The Inception of actively Appreciating Life

The Agudo Family
(From left to right: Jesus, Chris &  Iliana)

Jesus Agudo had begun a mission back on April 14th of 2010 to save his seventeen year old son’s life.  He had given up on reasons to live for.  He apparently lost site of everything in life that could be appreciated.  The darkness, clutter and distractions had taken over his mind set as he began the down word spiral of negative thoughts.

Yes, his son had tried to end his life.  The lack of realizations of what life had to offer was forgotten.  We are easily put in this type of situation due to being bombarded with negativity of any type from any angle at any given moment.

However, despite his de-appreciation for life on that day, Jesus knew that he was alone and that he needed interaction in one way or another.  Even though his phone was turned off, his wife and Jesus along with others sent him a massive amount of loving, positive texts and voicemails.  We had hope that our son would receive what he needed to see and hear from these texts and voicemails.

It was the hope that the positivity and light we were sending him via voice messages and texts would reach his mind.  It is what was needed most to combat the negativity and darkness or clutter that currently controlled our son's existence.

The efforts of our texts and voicemails were not wasted.  He had turned on his phone just one more time before attempting to end his life.  The texts were art for his eyes as the voicemails acted as inspirational music for his ears.  The balance of dark and light had begun.  Simply being able to have light come his way is just what was needed.  The light that we all need to see and feel is enough for us to continue onward in our journey.  The remedy for his depression is merely the opposite of what put him there to begin with, love and positivity.

On April 14, 2010.  This is the day when something BIG would happen.  This was the fourth day of his seven day evaluation at the psychiatric hospital that he ended up in.  On this day, the psychiatrist pointed her finger directly at Jesus and said, “You need to surround your son with reasons to live for.”

He had a handful of good reasons, but for the most part that was all he had, just a handful.

Before she lowered her finger he immediately began to search for the answers within his mind.

Jesus thought to himself, “there has to be bigger reasons to live for.”

Then… *Bang!!!* At that moment, it felt as if he had been downloaded with an amazing plan.  It was the master plan to find the answers that were so greatly needed.  He was to search and find reasons to live for. Jesus thought of a phrase that would help him in his plan and forever change him, his family and others.

The phrase, “Living Is So Big” was born right there and then.  Now, to get more information about the inception of Living Is So Big, you can find out more from our first book “Living Is So Big – Darkness to Light.”  This is the true story of what transpired within his family and how they turned a negative into a positive.

Jesus (father), Iliana (mother) and Christopher (son) have toured the United States to reach people with the desire to effect a positive change in their lives. To date, they have traveled over 70,000 miles and have visited 70+ cities. They go to middle & high schools, universities, businesses, stores, and events spreading the message of Universal Life Appreciation.

Also, our website “www.LivingIsSoBig.com” compiles and shares the many reasons to live for from people all across the world.  Hence, proving that living itself is so big.   Through the Living Is So Big cause, Jesus has come across thousands of new reasons just from people sharing their one priceless thought.  Their one, of many reasons, that made them uplifted or satisfied.

He had the privilege of meeting thousands upon thousands of people across North America while on a one year road trip from June 2011 – June 2012 and continue to meet new people.  Every person he meet, he asked the same questions. “What makes you happy in life?”  “What keeps you wanting to live?”  “Tell me why living is so big and why you appreciate your life.”  Most do not hesitate to answer such questions. Believe it or not, they were thankful for the opportunity to stop for a moment and reflect on their own lives.  After listening to so many reasons to live for, Jesus asked himself, one simple but difficult question:

“How can I consolidate the insurmountable number of reasons sent my way so that it can be understood and put into action with every day life for oneself?”

Then one amazing night, He was in and out of sleep because of that question which he had asked himself previously that day.  His mind began to run like a super computer trying to figure out why people did not realize all of the amazing and wonderful reasons to live for.  Jesus wondered why “Life Appreciation” had begun to be forgotten.

It once again seemed like another download and it was clear. At that moment, he believed he answered his question.  He clearly saw an image of a pattern of categories for all of the insurmountable number of reasons to live for he has heard to date.

There are eight categories to be exact; it was the birth of the “Eight Living Realizations” as Jesus knows it to be now.
