Dear Iliana, Jesus & Christopher
First of all, I would like to thank you for giving up some of your time to come to our class to talk about "Living Is So Big." I was in the 10th period class, which was at the end of the of day. Let me say that your presentation was the BEST! Your story really inspired me to do better in life. It also inspired me to help out my friends who need help the most.
The wristband I received, I gave it away to my own Father. He kept talking about how my Grandmother is sick, how he is constantly in pain and he didn't feel like living anymore. ...
I gave him my wristband and then had a long emotional talk with him about life and your presentation. He told me that because of me and my wristband, that he has a reason to live.
I would love to thank you for coming to our school and my classroom.
I wish you family the best of luck!
Sincerely,
B.C

Dear LISB Family,
I'm a girl that had a story of the past that I never wanted anyone to know. Back in elementary school I used to be a nervous, unpopular, ugly and insecure girl that didn't have many friends. Then, I met the most popular girl in elementary school that considered her my sister. For me it was big because she actually wanted to be my best friend.
Soon, I went to middle school where my whole attitude changed because of my other friend. This friend introduced me to a gang and cut-parties. I joined the gang in the 7th grade. Imagine, a 7th grader in a gang full of violence. Later on I became my friend's enemy. She felt bigger and cooler than me, so I started realizing that she was only treating me as her pet.
After that moment, I lost my unpopular mode to a cool gang leader for middle school. She and I fought twice and because of her I also lost my innocent shyness. I now became a girl going to cut-parties and doing bad in school. Little by little I became a girl who did not accept attitude from any one and I demanded respect!
My mom no longer trusted me, my dad was solid to me, my brothers bothered me and I did not have many friends because of my life style. Something CHANGED!
When I got to High School that changed who I was, because before with all that happened in my past, I once wanted to take my life away.
When I began my first year, I met my health teacher. She would talk about POSITIVE MOTIVATION and to love my life. Plus, you guys came and talked about Living Is So Big and OPENED my eyes. Now, I think positive, I LOVE school, I have REAL true friends, my family and I are great and I try to make my life as Healthy A POSSIBLE!
Love you guys! By the way, I sat in the back of the class where you guys were speaking. I was the one with a dark pink LISB wristband. :)
I posted on your Facebook and will keep in touch because I will love to share my whole story. There is much more to tell
Sincerely,
K.G

Dear Jesus and Christopher,
Thank you for coming to our classroom. We all appreciated it. The part I liked the best was when you guys were talking about how your son was really depressed and you helped him out. It amazed me how positive quotes or comments can change somebody's perspective in how the see life.
The way you were talking to us and the things you said made me realize a lot. I've been very depressed the past month and now because of you guys, I know I have a purpose to live!
Sincerely,
A.S

Dear Living Is So Big
I thank you for coming to our school and giving us all of the positive affirmations. Thank you for the wristbands and gratitude rocks. Every time I'm passing through a bad time I'm going to look at my wristband and make the rest of the day good.
Yesterday, I was passing through a bad time because I wanted to go somewhere and couldn't. But, I still tried to have a good time. I would have NEVER tried to make it better if you guys never gave me the wristband. I thank you guys because you never gave up! I hope you keep going and never quit.
Christopher, I hope you stay encouraged and keep going in life, even if it's going bad. Every time you feel like you did, remember that you have a lot of people that love and care about you.
I hope you guys keep going!
Sincerely,
R.A

Dear Jesus and Christopher,
Thank you for coming to our class the other day. You guys have changed my life around. I used to be depressed, stressed and unhappy every day. Ever since you guys came, you have inspired me. Just because I thought of you guys, I saved two of my close friends from killing themselves. It hurt a lot when they told me they wanted to end their lives. But, I stopped them from doing that. I am so glad. I feel like a brave teen. Although, I did have thoughts of ending my life as well. I starved myself and stayed in my room lying down. My heart felt abandoned, I was confused. But, I didn't have the right to be sad because LIVING IS SO BIG! That's the first thing that popped up in my mind.
What I love about you guys is that you motivate people.
You tell them to think and stay positive. Life is big and we should overcome our obstacles. Also, always to smile because it doesn't hurt to smile. Well, thank you so much for making for making me smile and brightening up my life. You guys should know that I might transfer to another high school in Ohio. It is the best for me and I can start new and fresh. But again, thank you so much and be safe.
Sincerely,
H.P
